Way out of Despair - Rajasthan

ICECD, along-with Jankidevi Bajaj Gram Vikas Sanstha set on a mission to identify, train and develop about 600 rural women in Rajasthan, India, to make them mainstream economic partners.

With the mission to include the rural women into mainstream economic activities, ICECD beganthepilotprojecttodevelop100rural women in Sikar to create their micro/small enterprise. Out of these about 65 women have started their businesses.

Lookingatthemeasurablesuccessful impactonthecommunities of Sikar, this project was further scaled up todevelop 500 more rural women and replicated in 20 villages. These women are earning Rs. 5000 to 40,000 a month from this start-up. Transformation from house-wife to entrepreneur made them more confident. This began contributing to the family income
