ICECD take initiative to offer the Post Graduate Diploma in Sustainable Development, one of the most comprehensive sustainability courses in India. Sustainable development has always been an area of concern in all development programs. There have been lots of interventions in the field of livelihood, health, education, water, sanitation and environment by various agencies going on without much of notable results.
It has been observed and experienced that development is possible as long as development activities are handholding the communities. There are so many organizations like Govt., (through their schemes), NGOs, Corporate, Banks and other Institutions who do work in the same direction, but fall short for the sustainable outcome. As per an estimate presently more than 1,50,000 management and development professionals are required in India with understanding of development needs and sustainable development goals.
The course is an outcome of practical and validated various development models implemented by ICECD over the last three and half decades in India and other countries. It has evolved innovative and result oriented approaches and tools for empowering communities and bring irreversible change process. The one-year PG DIPLOMA IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT course is an innovative initiative focusing on preparing new generation leaders for creating new India.
This course aims to create and strengthen the skills and competencies in implementing and managing the sustainable development programs.

- Develop knowledge and skills required for well managed development professionals to contribute effectively in the social, economic and political empowerment.
- Creation of a cadre of capable professionals skilled in assessing needs, conceptualizing, implementing and managing sustainable development for various government development departments, Banks, NGOs, and Corporate Houses for CSR implementation.

The Course Design:
The Post Graduate Diploma course is structured to provide advance focus on conceptual understanding of rural and urban sustainable development for immediate applications among men, women and children in development. The course would enable students to become well acquainted with understanding the need, planning, implementing and monitoring developmental initiatives.

- Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (Including Audit and Impact)
Specialization:
Students will select an area of their interest for dissertation and viva.
Eligibility and Admission Procedure:
The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree awarded by any of the University in India or other educational Institute established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section-3 of UGC Act 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by Government of India. Students appearing in the final year degree examination, at the time of application, can also apply. Due consideration is given to candidates belonging to the weaker sections, Schedule Caste (SC), Schedule Tribes (ST), and differently abled categories of students. The admission process consists of entrance examination and personal interview. Scores of competitive exams like CAT, CET, MAT and GCET, etc. will be given due consideration.
Candidates (Minimum Graduate) can apply online through institute's website. The eligible candidates will be interviewed online. The final selection is based on his/her performance in the interview.
