Holistic Village Development >> Adolescent Girls Empowerment

Adolescent Girls Empowerment

Primary Health Evaluation of Adolescent Girls by Dr. Mira at KGBV , Bagodra

Career Guidance Awareness worshop held at Indira Nagar-2 prmarcy shcool at village Lambha

Adolescence being a crucial phase, these workshops were undertaken in each village covering 200 girls in the age group of 12-19. We have also included girls drop-outs in this programme. All the four workshops have been completed.

A doctor’s check-up are also conducted for all the girls with follow-up health development plans to follow. Adolescence is a crucial phase in the life of women. The life-cycle approach for holistic child development remains unaddressed if adolescent girls are excluded from the developmental programmes aimed at human resource development.

These workshops are to be undertaken in village covering 2000 girls every year in the age group of 11 - 18.

Workshop for Adolescent Girls :

Adolescence is a very iportant age for girls. It was recognised that adolescent girls require supports in psychological, emotional and physical changes that they go through at that age.

Once empowered with knowledge, these girls are found to be much ore comfortable in dealing with their life. ICECD trained 314 Adolescent girls over the last year.
